I believe that music has the power to influence individuals and society. Playing and listening to music can be a powerful tool for self-understanding, self-exploration, healing catharsis, and social harmony. I teach, compose, & perform contemporary solo piano music. I enjoy creating musical landscapes that evoke emotional experiences. Through private sessions, I offer individuals the techniques and guidance for learning how to play at the piano. My influences include Maurice Ravel, Erik Satie, Herbie Hancock, Vince Guaraldi, and George Winston.

Students of all ages learn to make music at the piano through a method that I have developed based on my education and experience as both psychologist and musician. I enjoy sharing the art & craft of music making with others. I offer instruction in piano, trombone, voice, & composition. I enjoy teaching students of all ages, however, I have a particular interest in working with adult students. I offer a no-stress, fun, creative, and personally enriching musical experience. I believe that music has great personal and social powers and I believe that helping others to cultivate their personal relationship with music will lead to a better world for all of us. The emphasis of my music lessons is on personal growth and the enjoyment of making music for ourselves as well as with friends.

I studied music at the Mannes College of Music, in New York City, and at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in Belgium. I was a member of Carnegie Hall's New York Youth Symphony and served as trombonist in the Lima Philharmonic in Peru. At Mannes my main trombone teacher was Per Brevig (Metropolitan Opera) and at The Royal Conservatory of Brussels I studied with Ivan Myelemans (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra). I hold graduate degrees in psychology & interdisciplinary studies from The New School for Social Research and The EGS in Switzerland.
